Management and RTP of low back pain in elite cricketers

We are delighted to introduce our next speaker Alex Kountouris. Cricket Australia’s Head of Sports Science and Sports Medicine, a Physiotherapist and a Lecturer, Alex has a PhD in Cricket Injuries, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia

Alex Kountouris is a renowned figure in the work of Cricket with over 20 years’ experience working with professional athletes and facilitating them back to play post injury to the highest level of sporting participation.

Alex has numerous publications related to the elite cricket player and return to play as seen in a recent paper on hand fractures and a systematic review on medical-attention injuries in cricket players.

Alex recently examined mental health screening in injured male and female elite athletes using the athlete psychological strain questionnaire.

In his presentation, Alex will examine the management and return to play in elite crickets with low back pain.
