Injury Rehabilitation and Performance in Elite Sport Settings – An Integrated Model in the NBA

We are delighted to introduce our next speaker Lorena Torres. Performance Director 76ers with the National Basketball Association.
Lorena is a Sports Scientist (PhD) and strength and conditioning coach, and currently a fellow at the  Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL), Victoria University Melbourne, Australia.

She has an extensive educational and research background spanning five different universities across the globe, with specializations in sports performance and sports science. She has authored or co-authored research on topics such as hydrotherapy and recovery, basketball training and game demands, player tracking devices, and the implementation of technology and innovation in sports organizations. Lorena has a broad range of experience working in Professional sports, with golfers, tennis players, with basketball players at F.C. Barcelona, the Spanish Swimming Federation, and as a lead voice with the San Antonio Spurs (NBA) as a Sport Scientist and Research and Development Coordinator over four seasons, prior to joining the Sixers in 2019 as a Performance Director. In her presentation, Lorena is going to explore the management and return to play common injuries in the NBA.
