Surgical considerations in meniscal and chondral pathology in the elite athlete

We are delighted to introduce our next speaker Dr Charles H. Brown Jr, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of the International Knee and JointCentre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Mr Brown specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with meniscal and knee ligament injuries. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the European Society of Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) and the ACL Study Group. He has been awarded the AOSSM Herodicus Award twice and he has also won the AOSSM Aircast Award for his work on the anterior cruciate ligament.

Dr Brown is world-renowned as an innovator, lecturer and surgeon educator in the areas of knee arthroscopy, meniscal surgery and knee ligament reconstruction.

He is a pioneer in the development and design of arthroscopically-assisted ACL reconstruction techniques and instrumentation, suture based all-inside meniscal repair surgical techniques and instrumentation, and the use of hamstring tendon grafts for ACL reconstruction.

Dr. Brown will share his expertise in his presentation titled, ‘Surgical Considerations in Meniscal and Chondral Pathology in the elite athlete.’
